Redesigned with Powertrain Upgrades

Nissan redesigned the 2022 Pathfinder from top to tail. The new model comes with a futuristic exterior, additional comfort features, and the familiar three rows of seats. It also has an updated powertrain that includes a new transmission with a handful of drive modes.

2022 Nissan Pathfinder Performance Features

The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder performance features focus on a 3.5-liter V6 engine with direct injection with 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a new nine-speed automatic transmission with continuously variable valve timing and idle stop and start for improved fuel efficiency. All models come standard with front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available on all trims.

The newest feature in the 2022 model is the addition of seven drive modes. The SL and Platinum trims come with seven drive modes that include Standard, Sport, Eco, Snow, Sand, Mud/Rut, and Tow. The S and SV trims include five drive modes. All modes alter the throttle response, drivetrain tuning, steering weight, and torque distribution - especially when in four-wheel drive. Drivers adjust the mode with a knob on the center console.

Nissan Pathfinder specifications include a respectable towing capacity for a mid-size SUV. With the Pathfinder, drivers can tow toys that weigh up to 6,000 feet when equipped with necessary towing features.

The specs include responsible fuel economy. With two-wheel drive, the EPA-estimated fuel economy is 21/26 MPG, adding all-wheel drive brings the EPA-estimated fuel economy to 20/25.

Interior Features Enhancing the Ride

When in the captain’s chair, drivers will notice several features that enhance the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder performance. Features include Nissan Safety Shield 360 and optional ProPilot Assist with Adaptive Cruise Control, Steering Assist, and Traffic Sign Recognition for a semi-autonomous driving experience.

The Nissan Safety Shield 360 includes Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Rear Sonar System with Rear View Camera, Rear Automatic Braking, Intelligent Driver Alertness, and High Beam Assist.

Drivers also enjoy the infotainment system that comes with a standard 8-inch color touchscreen with voice recognition on the S and SV trims. The SL and Platinum trims come with a 9-inch color touchscreen. The SL and Platinum trim comes with a Door-to-Door Navigation system, and the Platinum trim adds a Head-up Display.

All models come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the wireless versions are standard on the SL and Platinum trims. The SV, SL, and Platinum trims have a Wi-Fi hotspot. All models include Bluetooth streaming, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, and several USB ports.
