Choose the Original - The Nissan Electric Vehicles
In 2010, the Nissan Leaf earned the honor of being the first mass-market electric vehicle. The innovative EV set the standard for sustainable driving, and since its introduction, Nissan has sold over 500,000 models.
Now in its second generation, the Leaf is still a top choice for drivers who want a low-cost and convenient commuter car. In 2023, ARIYA joined the Leaf, and this next-generation EV is turning heads for its attractive design, innovative technology, and zippy powertrain. Drivers around College Park and Stephens City can find the Nissan EV lineup at Tri-State Nissan.
The Affordably Priced, Trend-Setting Nissan Leaf
Nissan will end production of the Leaf after 2024, and the Leaf has delivered beyond expectations. The commuter car is available in two configurations. The first is the 2024 Nissan Leaf S with a 40-kWh battery pack and a single electric motor with 147 horsepower. The second, the Leaf SV Plus, has a 60-kWh battery pack and a single electric motor with 214 horsepower. Both configurations are paired with a single-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
The 2023 Nissan Leaf SV has a longer driving range of 212 miles, while the S has a range of 149 miles. Drivers can use a Level 1 charger with a household 110-volt outlet or a Level 2 240-volt outlet. The Leaf S needs eight hours to charge with a Level 2 charging system, while the Leaf SV needs about 12 hours to charge at home.
While on the road, drivers can charge the Leaf with a DC Fast-Charging station using a CHAdeMo connection. This system takes about 40 minutes to reach 80% from 20%.
Enjoy the Ride in the All-Electric Nissan ARIYA
The 2023 Nissan ARIYA opened more electric options. This sporty and futuristic EV is available in four configurations. Nissan offers two lithium-ion battery packs: 63 kWh and 87 kWh. The automaker offers the ARIYA with either a single electric motor and front-wheel drive or two electric motors and all-wheel drive. The FWD models deliver either 214 or 238 horsepower, while the AWD models deliver 335 or 389 horsepower.
Depending on the configuration, the ARIYA EPA-estimated range varies between 205 and 304. The best range comes from the ARIYA Venture+ model with the 87-kWh battery and FWD, while the shortest is the 63-kWh AWD Engage trim. Charging is similar to the Leaf, but the ARIYA uses the commonly found CCS DC fast charger. The ARIYA can charge as fast as 130-kW, so it can use the faster 100-kw or 150-kw DC fast chargers.
